A cooperation agreement has been signed between “Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary” JSC of the Republic of Kazakhstan and “ICT Group” JSC of Mongolia to collaborate on the launch of an earth observation satellite.

According to G.Lkhamsuren, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “ICT Group” JSC:
“For the first time in Mongolia, a private sector-led initiative is being implemented in cooperation with ‘Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary’ JSC of the Republic of Kazakhstan to launch an Earth observation satellite. This project represents an economically beneficial investment and will be utilized across multiple sectors, including land management, agriculture, environmental monitoring, mining and emergency management. It is also a strategic project with strong economic value in areas such as digital mapping, digital agriculture, and urban planning.”

As a result, Mongolia and “ICT Group” JSC are expected to possess an earth observation satellite by 2027, marking a major step forward in the country’s space technology, geospatial intelligence, and digital development sectors.
